About Richard Wagner, MD

A Dallas native, Dr. Wagner is excited to join Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates of Dallas. Dr. Wagner received his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and then returned home to DFW for medical school, earning his medical degree from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. He completed his residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Amarillo, where he served as chief resident. During his training, Dr. Wagner developed an interest in breast cancer and went on to complete a fellowship in Breast Oncology at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock.

Dr. Wagner’s unique training background in both obstetrics & gynecology and breast oncology allows him to provide quality care in all aspects of a woman’s life. His goal is to provide truly comprehensive women’s healthcare while building lasting relationships with his patients. Dr. Wagner works with patients to understand their breast cancer risk, screening options, and genetic makeup. He is passionate about spending time with patients, making sure they understand their care so they can make more informed decisions.

Dr. Wagner’s initial interest in medicine stemmed from experiences while growing up when his sister was diagnosed with cancer. His family formed great relationships with her caregivers, and he saw firsthand the lasting impact doctors have on the health and well-being of a family. Dr. Wagner is diligent about exemplifying the same high level of care that his sister received.

In his free time, Dr. Wagner enjoys spending time with his wife and their three boys. On weekends, they can usually be found watching their boys in any number of sporting events. Dr. Wagner is a big sports fan and enjoys cheering on the Cowboys, Mavericks, and Sooners. He loves doing anything outside including snow skiing, biking, swimming, fishing, and being on the lake.
